Law360 Regional Powerhouse Award Winner

Seeger Weiss has been honored with the 2024 Regional Powerhouse Award from Law360, recognizing the firm’s pivotal role in shaping the legal landscape in New Jersey and beyond. Known for its leadership in complex litigation and significant contributions to mass torts, environmental law, product liability, and eDiscovery, Seeger Weiss remains dedicated to providing our high standards of legal practice to all our clients.

Law firms on Law360’s list of 2024 Regional Powerhouses “reflected the local peculiarities of their states while often representing clients in deals and cases that captured national attention.”

In an interview with Law360, founding partner Stephen Weiss said, “We enter into a litigation setting not merely to beat our adversary, but to resolve problems and to obtain outcomes for our clients that are not just satisfactory but are often life-changing.”

Seeger Weiss has played a critical role in several high-stakes lawsuits in New Jersey. The firm represents the State of New Jersey in its lawsuit against Monsanto, Solutia, and Pharmacia for contaminating waterways with polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). The firm aims to hold these corporations accountable for the environmental damage they have caused. Additionally, Seeger Weiss is leading litigation on behalf of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection against Sherwin-Williams for toxic contamination at the former site of the world’s largest paint manufacturing facility in Gibbsboro, NJ.

The firm’s impressive track record also includes nationwide high-profile cases like the $6 billion 3M Combat Arms Earplug settlement, where Seeger Weiss partner Chris Seeger served as co-lead counsel, securing relief for veterans suffering from hearing loss. With the help of Seeger Weiss in the National Prescription Opioid Litigation, over $50 billion has been secured, with ongoing lawsuits across the country. The firm’s involvement in In Re: Philips Recalled CPAP, Bi-Level Pap, and Mechanical Ventilator Products Litigation also led to a landmark settlement, with over $1.075 billion in compensation for affected patients and a landmark $425 million settlement with AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals in 2023 in the Proton-Pump Inhibitor Products Liability Litigation centralized before Judge Claire Cecchi in the District of New Jersey. Lastly, in 2023, Seeger Weiss partner and co-lead counsel Parvin Aminolroaya negotiated a confidential settlement before Judge Brian R. Martinotti in the New Jersey District Court on behalf of hundreds of plaintiffs impacted by Johnson & Johnson’s misconduct in In re: Elmiron (Pentosan Polysulfate Sodium) Products Liability Litigation.
