Farmers alleged that Syngenta should have delayed putting a new brand of geneticially modified seeds on the market until Chinese authorities had approved the importation of corn grown from those seeds. Seeger Weiss helped secure a $1.51 billion nationwide class action settlement on behalf of 650,000 corn producers, grain handlers, and ethanol plants: the largest agricultural litigation settlement in U.S. history.
