Seeger Weiss founding partner Christopher Seeger was featured on the September 3rd episode of the Original Jurisdiction titled “The Maestro Of Mass Torts: Christopher Seeger.” Original Jurisdiction is a podcast that explores the legal profession, courts, and prominent figures in law.

Chris was interviewed by the host David Lat, who is a legal commentator and founder of Original Jurisdiction and Above the Law. He has a background as a federal prosecutor, litigation associate at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, and law clerk on the Ninth Circuit.

In the podcast, Chris reflected on his journey into the legal field, from his early cases to the decision to co-found Seeger Weiss with Stephen Weiss, and the significant litigations he has helped lead along the way. He explained the distinctions between mass torts and class actions, highlighting the firm’s strategy of focusing on trial preparation and bellwether cases to help drive meaningful settlements. Chris also shared his commitment to supporting the judiciary through initiatives such as the firm’s $500,000 donation to the Bolch Judicial Institute at Duke Law School, and he underscored the importance of lawyers approaching their work as a profession rooted in service, rather than merely as a business.

The podcast is available on the Original Jurisdiction website, in their newsletter, and on major podcast platforms, including Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
