Partner Parvin Aminolroaya has spent over a decade at Seeger Weiss working on some of the most significant class action and mass tort cases in the country, including the 3M Combat Arms Earplug Litigation, the National Prescription Opiate Litigation, and the Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) Litigation. In 2021, she was appointed to be Co-Lead Counsel in the Elmiron (Pentosan Polysulfate Sodium) Products Liability Litigation, the first woman of color to serve as lead counsel in a multidistrict litigation. The case reached a confidential settlement. In 2024, Parvin was chosen as one of four co-leads the In Re: Glucagon-like Peptide-1 Receptor Agonists (GLP-1 RAS) Products Liability Litigation against manufacturers Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly.
Partner Chris Ayers is renowned for his experience in eDiscovery and his pivotal contributions to high-profile cases, including a $700 million settlement in In re Mercedes-Benz Emissions Litigation. He is a key member of the plaintiffs’ team leading efforts to hold social media companies accountable for products endangering the lives of children in the Social Media Adolescent Addiction/Personal Injury Products Liability. Chris is a key litigator in the devastating Change Healthcare cyberattack and the Apple antitrust lawsuit. Finally, he represents the Estate of Henrietta Lacks, which seeks justice against pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies for unjustly profiting from Lack’s stolen cells.
Partner Benjamin R. Barnett is a nationally recognized eDiscovery litigator and joined Seeger Weiss in January 2024 after over two decades at Dechert LLP. In his first year with the firm, Ben played a key role in multiple litigation matters, including serving as ESI Liaison in the AT&T Data Breach multidistrict litigation where the parties negotiated a Preservation Order, Rule 502(d) Order and ESI Protocol in three months. Ben is also serving as ESI Discovery Liaison in Alford v. The NFL Player Disability & Survivor Benefit Plan and supporting Seeger Weiss colleagues in the Insulin Pricing Litigation MDL.
Senior partner Dave Buchanan represents individual and corporate plaintiffs in state and federal courts nationwide. Dave was appointed as co-lead counsel for the Self-Funded Payer Track in the In re: Insulin Pricing Litigation. He has also served as Chair of the Discovery & ESI Subcommittee in the 3M Combat Arms Earplug Litigation, the largest mass tort in American history, co-led the negotiation of discovery orders and litigated disputes before the Special Master in the Philips CPAP, Bi-Level PAP and Mechanical Ventilator Products Liability Litigation, and was co-chair of discovery as well as lead counsel in several bellwether trials in the Vioxx Litigation.
Partner Steven Daroci is a key litigator in the ongoing In re: Insulin Pricing Litigation. Steve previously represented a class of women who were harmed by using the drug Elmiron in the In re: Elmiron (Pentosan Polysulfate Sodium) Products Liability Litigation and represents a class of drivers in a federal class action against General Motors who allege GM hid defects in its trucks and SUVs.
Partner Scott George focuses on complex litigation and class actions, handling cases involving product liability, consumer protection, catastrophic injury, and pharmaceutical harm. He has played key roles in landmark cases, including the NFL Players’ Concussion Injury Litigation, securing over $1 billion for former players, and the Volkswagen “Clean Diesel” Litigation, which resulted in a historic $15 billion settlement. Scott has also been instrumental in the Chinese Drywall Litigation, BMW Clean Diesel Litigation, and recent actions against the LDS Church for alleged misuse of charitable donations. Scott’s results-driven approach and leadership in high-stakes cases continues to drive meaningful outcomes for plaintiffs nationwide.
Jeffrey S. Grand, a longtime partner at Seeger Weiss, focuses on complex individual and class action litigation involving pharmaceutical injuries, medical devices, and dangerous consumer products. Jeff served on the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee for seven federal multidistrict litigations involving transvaginal mesh cases and Xarelto (Rivaroxaban) Products Liability Litigation, where his efforts contributed to a $775 million settlement. More recently, Jeff served as Discovery Chair in the Invokana MDL, Discovery Co-Chair in the PPI Litigation, Chair of Discovery for the Bard Hernia Mesh MDL where he was a member of the trial team for all of the MDL trials, and was asked to serve as Discovery Co-Chair in In Re: Oral Phenylephrine Marketing and Sales Practices Litigation.
Partner Shauna Itri’s practice focuses on representing plaintiffs in various settings, including class action securities and consumer matters under whistleblower laws. Shauna played an integral role in the discovery process for the Philips CPAP, Bi-Level PAP and Mechanical Ventilator Products Liability Litigation, which settled for $1.075 billion. Shauna was recently appointed to the Plaintiff’s Executive Committee in the AT&T Inc Customer Data Security Breach Litigation. Previously, Shauna served as lead attorney in United States ex rel. Doe v. Covidien et al. helping secure a $13 million False Claims Act settlement against Covidien.
Diogenes ‘Dion’ Kekatos, a partner at Seeger Weiss, is a seasoned civil litigation attorney with experience in appellate matters and complex class action litigation. His practice focuses on ERISA, civil RICO, consumer fraud, environmental, antitrust, and mass tort cases. He has argued nearly 130 appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and has played a key role in significant cases, including class certification motions in high-profile cases.
Partner Matt Pawa currently represents Vermont and Maine in litigation against 3M and DuPont for pollution of the state’s land and waters with the PFAS “forever chemicals”. He recently represented the state of New Hampshire and the Commonwealth of Virginia in litigation against Monsanto for pollution of state waters with PCBs, resulting in settlements worth $25 million and $80 million, respectively.
Partner Michael L. Rosenberg focuses on complex and mass tort litigation, including drug injury, product liability, and advocating for childhood sexual abuse survivors. He played a key role in the NFL Players’ Concussion Injury Litigation, securing a $1 billion settlement fund and a 65-year medical testing program. In the Accutane Litigation, he helped secure over $55 million in jury verdicts and landmark appellate victories. Michael also contributed to over $2 billion in settlements for Yasmin and YAZ victims and led the PPA Products Liability Litigation, achieving a $200 million settlement.
Jennifer Scullion is a member of the Plaintiffs’ Executive Committee, Settlement Committee, Manufacturers’ Committee, and Law & Briefing Committee in the National Prescription Opiate Litigation. In 2024, Jennifer was appointed co-chair of the Plaintiff’s Steering Committee for the Provider Track in the Change Healthcare Inc. Customer Data Security Breach Litigation. Jennifer was also selected to serve as a member of the Direct Action Plaintiffs Executive Committee in the MultiPlan Health Insurance Providers Litigation.
Chris Seeger, co-founding partner of Seeger Weiss, has led some of the most complex, groundbreaking, and high-profile litigations in the U.S. He played a pivotal role in securing over $50 billion in opioid litigation settlements and a $6 billion settlement in the landmark M Combat Arms Earplug Litigation. Among his other top wins are a $1.075 billion settlement in the Philips CPAP litigation, a $4.85 billion Vioxx settlement, and a $1 billion-plus uncapped settlement in the NFL concussion case. Chris was recently appointed as Plaintiffs’ Coordinating Counsel in the MultiPlan Health Insurance Providers Litigation.
Caleb Seeley a partner at Seeger Weiss since January 2023, played a key role in the 3M Combat Arms Earplug Litigation, helping secure verdicts of $50 million, $55 million, and $1.7 million in bellwether trials, culminating in a $6 billion settlement for injured service members. Caleb also contributed to a $1.075 billion settlement in the Philips CPAP litigation, successfully opposing critical motions and assisting in negotiating compensation for affected plaintiffs.
Stephen Weiss, co-founding partner of Seeger Weiss, leads the firm’s qui tam/whistleblower practice, focusing on healthcare and tax fraud under federal and state False Claims Acts. He has litigated against CareCore National, Warner Chilcott, and Life Spine, Inc., and secured the first settlement under New York’s 2010 tax whistleblower amendments. In March 2023, he helped achieve a $10 million settlement with Stimwave for False Claims Act violations.
