American Lawyer Media's Elite Trial Lawyers 2025

Seeger Weiss received multiple honors at American Lawyer Media’s Elite Trial Lawyers 2025, with the firm named as the Products Liability Practice Group of the Year and senior partner Dave Buchanan receiving the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Products Liability Practice Group of the Year award recognizes Seeger Weiss’ exceptional work in complex product liability litigation. The award was based on the firm’s leadership in landmark cases including In Re: Philips Recalled CPAP, Bi-Level Pap, and Mechanical Ventilator Products Litigation and In Re: Glucagon-like Peptide-1 Receptor Agonists (GLP-1 RAS) Products Liability Litigation. These cases demonstrate Seeger Weiss’ ability to handle the most challenging product liability matters, securing significant results for clients harmed by defective medical devices and pharmaceutical products.

Senior partner Dave Buchanan has been honored with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing his exceptional career and lasting contributions to the legal profession. Throughout his distinguished tenure at Seeger Weiss, Buchanan has demonstrated instrumental roles in some of the most significant litigation matters of the past decades. He served as co-chair of the Plaintiffs Steering Committee in the 3M Combat Arms Earplug Litigation that resulted in a $6 billion settlement for veterans, and as co-lead counsel in the Philips Recalled CPAP, Bi-Level Pap, and Mechanical Ventilator Products Litigation that secured over $1.6 billion in settlements. Most recently, he was appointed co-lead counsel in the Insulin Pricing Litigation representing state and local governments, unions, and benefit plans and chair of the Trial Subcommittee for the Depo-Provera Products Liability Litigation. His leadership, mentorship, and dedication to the highest standards of legal practice have made him a respected figure in the plaintiffs’ bar and earned him this well-deserved recognition.
