Seeger Weiss is proud to announce that Law360 selected the firm’s product liability practice as one of the 2023 Practice Groups of the Year, an award which honors “attorney teams behind litigation wins and major deals that resonated throughout the legal industry this past year.” This recognition is a testament to the firm’s historic run resolving major product liability lawsuits on behalf of its clients in 2023 as well as its leadership in many of the most significant product liability litigations in the country.

Last year, founding partner Chris Seeger spearheaded negotiations with 3M to resolve the Combat Arms Earplug litigation, leading to a landmark settlement worth more than $6 billion on behalf of veterans suffering from hearing loss and tinnitus. The firm also helped reach an uncapped agreement with Philips to resolve the economic loss claims of patients and payers who purchased recalled CPAP devices that was worth a minimum of $479 million and negotiated a more than $500 million settlement with defendants who sold proton-pump inhibitor drugs that allegedly cause kidney injuries.

“Over the past year, our firm has worked tirelessly to resolve complex product liability cases that have a profound impact on people’s lives,” said Seeger. “We are deeply honored by this recognition from Law360, which reflects not just the dedication and expertise of our team, but our commitment to justice for our clients.”

Currently Seeger Weiss holds leadership roles in high-profile product liability cases, including the National Prescription Opioid Litigation, Elmiron (Pentosan Polysulfate Sodium) Products Liability Litigation, Philips Recalled CPAP, Bi-Level PAP, and Mechanical Ventilator Products Liability Litigation, and the Social Media Adolescent Addiction/Personal Injury Products Liability Litigation.
