Seeger Weiss is proud to share that Lawdragon has placed three attorneys – Matthew Pawa, Wesley Kelman, and Benjamin Krass– on The 2025 Lawdragon 500 Leading Environmental Lawyers – The Green 500 list. The award highlights lawyers who “spend their lives helping address our world, whether on behalf of a corporation that delivers energy or develops homes, or an organization that fights for endangered species and to protect open land.”

Seeger Weiss environmental practice chair, Matt Pawa, is a nationally recognized litigator with over 25 years of experience in high-stakes environmental cases. He has been at the forefront of litigation against major corporations responsible for pollution, with a particular focus on PFAS “forever chemicals” and PCBs. Matt has successfully represented state and local governments, including Vermont and New Hampshire, in litigation against major corporations holding them accountable for contaminating water supplies with toxic chemicals. His pioneering legal work has led to landmark environmental verdicts and settlements. In 2013, he was named a Massachusetts Lawyer of the Year for his role in groundbreaking litigation against oil companies on behalf of the State of New Hampshire.

Wesley Kelman is an experienced environmental litigator dedicated to holding corporations accountable for toxic contamination, with a strong focus on PFAS and PCB pollution. Prior to private practice, Wes worked at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), where he earned Employee of the Year for the Superfund section of the EPA’s Boston office, and a national recognition for his contributions to the Sudbury River cleanup. His work has been instrumental in securing justice for affected communities and driving environmental accountability.

Benjamin Krass is an environmental lawyer with nearly two decades of experience litigating complex contamination cases, with a strong focus on dangerous chemicals in the environment. He has represented states, municipalities, and individuals in high-profile environmental lawsuits, holding major corporations accountable for widespread contamination. His experience includes landmark cases against corporate polluters, and he continues to advocate for governments and communities impacted by toxic chemical exposure, ensuring accountability and environmental justice.
