  • In re Actos (Pioglitazone) Prods. Liab. Litig., Case no. 6:11-md-2299 (W.D. La.). Member of the Seeger Weiss team appointed by the Hon. Rebecca F. Doherty to the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee of the consolidated multi-district litigation (MDL), obtaining a jury verdict of $9 billion in punitive damages, the seventh-largest verdict in US history (later reduced to $36.8 million), against Takeda Pharmaceutical Co., Asia’s largest drug maker, and marketing partner Eli Lilly & Co., on behalf of plaintiffs who developed bladder cancer resulting from their Actos diabetes drug. Involvement included case evaluations, discovery responsibilities and settlement process.

 

  • In re Invokana (Canagliflozin) Prods. Liab. Litig., MDL No. 2750 (D.N.J.). Member of the Seeger Weiss team appointed by the Hon. Brian R. Martinotti as Co-Lead Counsel of the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee, representing plaintiffs in consolidated MDL and state court litigation against Johnson & Johnson Co. and Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Inc., claiming injuries including diabetic ketoacidosis, acute kidney failure and amputations as a result of taking the drug Invokana. Involvement has included case evaluations and discovery responsibilities. Case pending.

 

  • In re Bard IVC Filters Prods. Liab. Litig., MDL No. 2:15-md-02641 (D. Ariz.). Representing plaintiffs in MDL and state court proceedings against Bard Medical Division, manufacturers of the blood filter IVC Filter, for serious and potentially permanent injuries including perforation, migration and/or fractured struts. Involvement has included case evaluation and discovery responsibilities. Case pending

 

  • In re Cook IVC Filters Prods. Liab. Litig., MDL No. 1:14-ml-02570  (S.D. Indiana). Representing plaintiffs in MDL and state court proceedings against Cook Medical Inc., manufacturers of the blood filter IVC Filter, for serious and potentially permanent injuries including perforation, migration and/or fractured struts. Involvement has included case evaluation and discovery responsibilities. Case pending

 

  • In re Benicar (Olmesartan) Prods. Liab. Litig., MDL No. 2606 (D.N.J.). Representing plaintiffs in an MDL of nearly 1000 lawsuits against Daiichi Sankyo Co. Ltd. and Forest Laboratories Inc., manufacturers of blood pressure medication Benicar, for gastrointestinal injuries sustained after using the drug. Involvement included case evaluation, discovery responsibilities, and evaluating cases for settlement. Settlement pending.

 

  • In re Ethicon Physiomesh Flexible Composite Hernia Mesh Prods Liab. Litig., MDL No. 2782 (N.D. Ga.). Representing plaintiffs in MDL against the manufacturers of Physiomesh who have suffered an injury from the mesh product. Involvement has included case evaluations, and discovery responsibilities. Case pending.
