Macbook Crashes

Apple (Mac) enthusiasts were pleased to find out that the latest generation of the Macbook line would sport discrete graphics, even on the base model Macbook. Macbook Pro users have long expected discrete graphics in their laptops to cope with the graphics-intensive nature of their work or play. The bar seemed to have been raised, bringing the once graphically challenged Macbook into the fold of laptops capable of running serious computer games and graphics intensive software. Unfortunately, that promise was not fulfilled and consumers who purchased the aluminum unibody Macbooks and Macbook Pro's have only had glitches, freezing and trouble to show for the money they spent.

Macbook Graphics Failures

Macbooks' video cards overheat and cause the laptop to crash, or display a "black screen of death," which requires the user to hard-restart their computer. The crashes happen when the user is trying to play a 3d videogame, or using other graphics intensive programs. These crashes have caused more than a few raised eyebrows considering that Apple claims that:

"Because Apple builds both the computer and the software that comes with it, they're literally made for each other."

Consumers who have spent hundreds of dollars on a laptop should not have to reduce their use their laptop to maintain system stability. A design defect is present in the new Aluminum Macbook and Macbook Pro that has caused the laptops to freeze and fail under moderately heavy use.
