Seeger Weiss LLP Opens Philadelphia Office

September 11, 2007

Seeger Weiss LLP, one of the nation's premier plaintiffs' law firms, is pleased to announce the opening of its new Philadelphia office location at 1515 Market Street. Partner and Philadelphia native Jonathan Shub, a seasoned litigator in the area of defective consumer electronics and computer hardware, leads the office of six attorneys.

Seeger Weiss and its attorneys have gained the attention of the national legal and business communities as a result of a string of recent landmark cases, including a $47.5 million Vioxx-related jury verdict against Merck & Co. in its home court, a groundbreaking $700 million settlement against Eli Lilly & Co. related to its anti-psychotic drug Zyprexa, and a $42.5 million nationwide class settlement on behalf of over 200,000 Maytag customers, among many others. Known for its tenacity, innovation and honed trial savvy, the Firm serves in key leadership roles in numerous high-profile matters throughout the country, and is broadly considered to be one of the nation's preeminent mass tort and class action law firms.

Chris Seeger, the firm's founder said: 'Seeger Weiss has been part of the Philadelphia community for some time. Our new office reflects our growth, and we will continue our practice of aggressively representing injured individuals and classes in complex lawsuits and class actions there and throughout the county. With offices in New York City, Newark, Tulsa, Los Angeles, and now Philadelphia, our lawyers have never been better positioned to represent the interests of consumers, investors and other individuals who have been victimized by corporate misconduct.'

Comprised of more than 30 attorneys, the Firm forms an elite group of former federal and state prosecutors and trial attorneys who are alumni of some of the nation's largest and most highly respected defense firms. In addition to Shub and firm founders Christopher Seeger and Stephen Weiss, partners include David Buchanan, Dion Kekatos, Eric Chaffin, and Moshe Horn. Collectively, the Seeger Weiss lawyers have tried more than 100 jury trials and, along with co-counsel, have recovered more than $2 billion on behalf of firm clients and class members.
