Defective Remington Model 700 Rifle Lawsuit

January 11, 2013

A defective fire arm is dangerous and can have deadly consequences.  That’s why the allegations that the Remington Model 700 rifle can fire without a trigger pull are serious and need to be examined carefully.  For that reason, Seeger Weiss LLP is investigating claims for a potential class action suit against the renowned gun manufacturer for its defective rifle.

Remington Arms Company was founded nearly 200 years ago.  The North Carolina-based company manufactures firearms including rifles, shotguns, and handguns.  The Model 700 rifle features a Walker Fire Control trigger mechanism that is designed to provide a better feel and more accurate shot.  This mechanism is patented and used exclusively in Remington Firearms.

It is alleged that debris, moisture, and lubrication (among other things) can build up inside the Walker Fire Control trigger causing the device to fail and fire unexpectedly.  This puts the gun owner and surrounding persons at serious risk.  Moreover, it is alleged that Remington has known for many years that the Model 700 rifle can fire unexpectedly.  Yet, the company continues to manufacture the rifle despite serious risk to its customers.

To further our investigation, we would like anyone who owns a defective Remington Model 700 rifle to contact us.  All initial attorney consultations are free of charge.
