Cardozo Names Christopher A. Seeger Alumnus of the Year

November 6, 2009

Seeger Weiss is proud to announce that the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law has named founding partner Christopher A. Seeger its Alumnus of the Year.

Mr. Seeger, a graduate of the class of 1990, has served his alma mater diligently – contributing to academic life as an adjunct professor of trial advocacy and complex litigation, and frequently participating in panels and lectures. He has enhanced the alumni community by chairing one of Cardozo’s first alumni fundraising drive with his former classmate, colleague, co-founder and friend, Stephen A. Weiss. The partners made a generous gift to Cardozo to name the law review office where they first met and cemented their friendship the Seeger Weiss LLP Law Review Office. Seeger Weiss has actively recruited Cardozo alumni: six of the firm’s eight partners are graduates.

Mr. Seeger is widely acclaimed as one of the nation’s most talented complex litigation attorneys. He ranks among Law Dragon’s top 500 “Leading Lawyers” in the country, is regularly named to New York and New Jersey “Super Lawyers,” and is numbered among New York’s “Best Lawyers.” Mr. Seeger has served with distinction as lead attorney and in other leadership positions in many far reaching and groundbreaking federal and state actions, in product liability, negligence and consumer fraud cases, with particular expertise in pharmaceutical injury. In addition to representing large numbers of plaintiffs injured by defective drugs, Mr. Seeger also works on behalf of individuals who have suffered injuries as the result of negligence or malfeasance. His successes have been noted in the 2007 “Top 20 Personal Injury Awards of the Year” published by the New Jersey Law Journal, and in the National Law Journal’s annual Plaintiffs’ Hot List three years running.

The Cardozo Alumni Association Dinner, co-chaired by Mr. Weiss, was held on Monday, November 16, 2009 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, at 80 Columbus Circle and 60th Street. Over $250,000 was raised for the Post-Graduate Public Service Stipends program, which provides provides grants of $5,000 each to Cardozo graduates who contribute to the public good by doing legal work in public sector law over a ten-week period. Check out photos from the event on our blog.
