Seeger Weiss' Jonathan Shub Recognized As A 2007 Pennsylvania Super Lawyer
October 21, 2007
Named to Prestigious List for Third Consecutive Year
Seeger Weiss LLP, one of the nation's premier plaintiffs' law firms, is pleased to announce that partner Jonathan Shub has been recognized as a 2007 Pennsylvania Super Lawyer, listed in the category of Class Action/Mass Torts. This is the third consecutive year in which Mr. Shub has been named a Super Lawyer. Super Lawyers names the top 5 percent of attorneys in Pennsylvania as chosen by their peers and through the independent research of Law & Politics, publisher of Super Lawyers.
Listing outstanding lawyers from more than 60 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement, Super Lawyers is compiled through an extensive, multi-step process that involves attorney surveys, candidate research, and peer evaluation by practice area. The list was published in Philadelphia magazine and all results are at www.superlawyers.com.
Mr. Shub is recognized as one of the nation's leading consumer rights lawyers, based on his vast experience representing classes of individuals against well-known manufacturers of consumer products. He has gained notable attention in the area of defective consumer electronics and computer hardware as a result of many leadership positions in cases against companies such as Hewlett-Packard, Maytag, IBM and Palm. In fact, Maximum PC Magazine said that "Shub is becoming renowned for orchestrating suits that have simultaneously benefited consumers and exposed buggy hardware."
A Philadelphia native, Jon regularly appears in federal courts nationwide, and in many high profile consumer protection cases Jon's leadership roles require him to develop the theories of liability for the entire class as well as the overall trial strategy for the cases. He presently serves as co-lead counsel in litigation against Vonage for consumer fraud, and as co-lead counsel in a national class action against Nissan for defective tires on its 350Z model. In a case against Maytag, he was instrumental in negotiating a $42.5 million nationwide settlement for a class of more than 200,000 Maytag customers.
