Kellogg's Immunity Advertising

Kellogg's has added labels to some of their cereal products' boxes claiming that the cereal, such as Kellogg's Cocoa Krispies, can support children's immunity. These cereal boxes have arrived at a time when many parents have increased their concerns for their children's health due to the prominence of the H1N1 flu virus. To date, Kellogg's has not provided anything more than anecdotal support for their claim. Kellogg's Cocoa Krispies are a particularly sugary cereal based on the popular Kellogg's Rice Krispies cereal. The idea that Cocoa Krispies could provide immune benefits that would supersede any negative health consequences because of high sugar content has angered many parents who feel they have been misled by Kellogg's deceptive marketing.
