Facebook Click Fraud

Companies and advertisers that contract with the popular social networking site Facebook for “Pay-Per-Click Advertising, or PPC Advertising, have been disturbed to find that they have been improperly billed for clicks on their ads. Recently, Facebook advertisers were quoted as having as much as 10 times the amount of clicks by Facebook's metrics than by other click tracking software such as Google Analytics and StatCounter. These clicks result in much higher advertising bills for an advertising company, which has caused many advertisers to question Facebook's PPC Advertising systems.

Seeger Weiss, LLP is currently co-lead counsel in a federal case in the Northern District of California against Facebook for alleged overcharging in connection with PPC Advertising. The case is captioned, In re Facebook PPC Advertising Litigation, No. 09-03-0343.
