Cingular Misled and Overcharged AT&T Cell Phone Subscribers
Seeger Weiss LLP is currently investigating claims that Cingular misled and overcharged AT&T cell phone subscribers when Cingular purchased AT&T in October of 2004.
Recent allegations charge that Cingular altered AT&T's existing cell phone network, which required AT&T cell phone subscribers to purchase new phone equipment, move on to more expensive monthly plans, and in some cases, AT&T cell phone subscribers were charged an $18 "transfer" or "upgrade" fee to move over to Cingular. Additionally, AT&T cell phone subscribers that did not wish to pay additional fees or continue service with Cingular, were charged an "early termination fee" of $175.
