Cell Phone Locking

Seeger Weiss LLP is currently investigating claims for a potential class action involving cell phone service carriers that sell "locked mobile" phones. "Locked" mobile phones have software that prevents the mobile phone user from switching with the same phone to a different carrier. Often as a result of this software consumers who change carriers are required to purchase a new mobile phone if they want to change their contract. They may also encounter difficulties switching providers when traveling internationally or in donating or recycling their phone.
