Seeger Weiss Obtained a National Settlement on Behalf of Consumers Against Apple Computers for Defective iMac DV & G4 Computers
In late 1999, Apple Computer rolled out the now famous iMac DV personal computer, touting its digital video performance as a primary selling point. Like its G4 sibling, the iMac featured DVD playback features. Due to a design defect in the computer's software-based DVD player, however, DVD playback was virtually unwatchable. Problems included picture freezes, de-pixelization, and lip sync problems. Following scores of consumer complaints and litigation led by Seeger Weiss, the Firm obtained a nationwide settlement that provided for a repair for all affected computers.
